Trial court rules against open government in TNInvestco case

State officials don’t have to disclose how the state scored 25 companies competing for six slots in a program that gave $120 million in taxpayer funds to private businesses. A Nashville judge made that ruling on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.

TCOG Executive Director Frank Gibson was quoted in the story:

“This is taxpayer money that’s at risk here and the public has a right to know if it was invested wisely,” said Frank Gibson, executive director of the Tennessee Coalition for Open Government.
